Kingsgrave is a short, 5 to 6 hours, game with an addictive gameplay loop. It's a familiar loop: you hit enemies, gain resources, use those resources to upgrade your character, repeat. What's interesting here is the element of discovery, to upgrade and unlock abilities and thus, new paths to explore, you need to restore buildings with those resources.
There's a bit of grinding involved to get some of the resources which brings it down a little. I also got stuck a few times when I had forgotten about something I could not progress through when I came across it the first time, but could with my new abilities leading to some confused and unfun backtracking. Fortunately, the game is not that large and very generous with fast travel.
The game features some light puzzles, some of which aren't too well explained. I didn't have trouble myself, but I can imagine some people getting frustrated now and then.
Overall I had a good time with it and would recommend it if a any of the above resonated with you.
